Commissions

Whether it’s a sentimental gift for a loved one or a special addition to your space, every detail of your unique investment is handled with care every step of the process. Ayesha Grace specialises in family/couple portraits and close-up, detailed composition of sentimental items (e.g. wedding dress and rings).

The style of the paintings always depicts subjects with faces covered, turned away, or in profile, focusing on fabric structure and flow, the subject’s silhouette, and composition rather than facial details. This approach enables us to capture the essence and beauty of the portrait and composition in a unique way.

The turnaround time ranges from 2-3 months, depending on my current workload and the piece's details.

Below is the step-by-step of the commission process:

How it Works

Step 1. Your Vision

Send me the reference photo and any other details you would like to include to describe your vision. For example, emphasising a certain colour, removing or adding subjects/objects. Together, we will finalise the painting’s composition.

Step 2. Pricing and Size

Next, we will decide on the painting’s size. Keep in mind that subjects/objects in a smaller painting cannot be as detailed as those in a larger size. Therefore, if the composition is very detailed, try to select a size that would complement it well and offer a better finish. I will be able to help with this decision. Next, we will finalise the price of the piece and a rough estimate of the shipping costs. After we’ve settled on the size and price, I will send a contract for you to sign and collect a 50% deposit of the final amount.

Step 3. Creating your painting

Once the deposit has been paid, I will start the painting process. You will have the option to get sent progress photos or just see the finished painting! The completion time will be determined by the complexity of the painting, if I have multiple ongoing commissions and the drying time. A piece typically takes around 2-3 months, depending on size and composition. If there is a deadline for your painting (e.g. birthday, wedding), let me know and we can try to work around it. I will communicate ahead of time, should there be any changes.

Step 4. Delivery

Once the shipping costs are finalised, they will be added to the remaining amount of your invoice. After the payment, the painting will be shipped! I mostly ship within Australia, however, I also accept international commissions, but keep in mind that there would be additional costs (e.g. customs and duties). You will be updated and given a tracking number.

General Conditions

A non-refundable 50% deposit is due before I begin the work. The deposit holds that commission's place in line to be started as soon as any previous ones are completed. I will send photos of the finished piece for your final approval. The remaining balance is due before the completed artwork is shipped.
